Project description
The project, located in the centre of Lugano, foresees the creation of a new Info Point for Lugano Region. Conceived as both a tourist office and a welcoming urban living room, the space is organised as an open environment where visitors can freely consult information, rest and take a seat before continuing their journey. At the entrance, a large pegboard wall displays brochures, maps and publications, while also serving as a flexible support for small objects, mugs and souvenirs.
The interior is articulated in three main components: a six-metre-long standing table for quick consultancy, a set of interactive devices that allow visitors to plan their day and entertain children through playful installations, and a consultation niche with seated service. The design language is unified by the use of bright red metal—echoing the Lugano Region logo—applied to key elements, including the interactive stations and the central pendant lamp. At the rear, a wall of cabinets conceals a sliding door that discreetly leads to a staff-only area, ensuring the balance between public openness and functional backstage organisation.
