Project description
The project, located in San Pietro (Stabio) on plot no. 887, consists of six identical villas arranged along a single folded block that encloses a landscaped central courtyard, recalling traditional Mendrisiotto courtyard typologies. The development occupies 485 m² of a 1,621 m² site and integrates shared green areas, visitor parking and private gardens, ensuring both communal interaction and residents’ privacy.
Each villa is organised over three levels: a ground floor with covered parking, service rooms and direct garden access; a first-floor open-plan living area with dual loggias—one facing the public courtyard, one overlooking the private garden; and a second floor with a master suite, two bedrooms and a circulation space opening onto a double-height living room.
The structure is predominantly cross-laminated timber (X-Lam), ensuring high thermal and acoustic insulation, with concrete foundations (and optionally a concrete base) for durability. Facades combine ventilated vertical timber slats, micro-perforated metal panels at ground level and triple-glazed timber windows. A low four-pitched roof with concealed drainage preserves the clean, minimal geometry of the elevations.
